Wava Truscott is Director of Scientific Affairs and Clinical Education. In this role, Wava and her team develop and present (or publish) educational and scientific programs addressing allergic reactions, granulomas and adhesions, poor wound healing, healthcare-associated infections, lint and powder complication, unintentional perioperative hypothermia, biofilm formation in medicine, fire safety in the OR, healthcare provider occupational risk reduction and bioterrorism and avian flu preparedness. She chairs or participates on national committees for the development of test methods and standards setting activities. Wava has held a variety of positions in regulatory affairs, microbiological testing, toxicology and sterilization at Nelson Laboratories (formally MIDECO), Baxter Pharmaseal Division, Safe Skin Corporation and Safe Life Corp (Co-Founder); is co-author of the AAMI guidelines on bioburden determinations and AAMI/ANSI Medical Device Biocompatibility ISO 10993-11, Systemic Toxicology.
Wava received her PhD. in Comparative Pathology from the University of California (Davis campus) with emphasis in Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology; her Masters in Business administration from the University of La Verne in California; her Bachelors degree in Botany and Zoology from Brigham Young University and her hospital aide certification at Fort Gordon Georgia through the Army/Red Cross program. She served as an aide in several military hospitals for Viet Nam wounded and in civilian AIDS Clinics and long term care facilities.

Kathleen Stoessel is the Senior Manager for Clinical Education in Kimberly-Clark’s Health Care sector. Her responsibilities include the development and presentation of accredited customer education programs. Additionally, she serves as both an internal consultant and a professional speaker on clinically related topics.
Ms. Stoessel is the former Manager of Clinical Education for the Safeskin Corporation. In that role, she was responsible for the creation and presentation of educational programs on medical glove-associated issues. Prior to her work with Safeskin, she served as a Navy Nurse Corps officer for 24 years.
Stoessel brings a diverse clinical background to her educational programs, including coronary care, general medicine, labor and delivery, and orthopedic and surgical nursing. She was also the manager of all educational programs for healthcare and support personnel at Naval Hospital Subic Bay, Philippines; Naval Hospital, Millington, Tennessee; and Naval Medical Center, San Diego.
She received her Registered Nurse Diploma from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Huntington, West Virginia; BS in Nursing from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island; and MS in Education from Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee.
